Marketing & Events Coordinator
Position Summary
The Marketing and Events Coordinator manages and executes marketing strategies and events to raise awareness, engage members, and drive fundraising for Mid-County Center. This position works on both the marketing side, developing media campaigns and ideas, as well as the coordinating side, by planning and implementing activities for the Center. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and goal-driven applicant with excellent communication skills to fill this role. To be successful in this role, you should have previous work or internship experience in marketing, event coordination, or have been in a related customer-facing position.
Position Responsibilities
Marketing:
- Manage the Center’s online presence through weekly Facebook posts and monthly blog posts on the website.
- Increase membership, participation and MCC brand awareness through effective marketing plans and campaigns using current social/active attendance counts.
- Plan and lead promotional events to positively represent Mid-County Center.
- Communicate directly with members and the local community, encouraging trusting relationships.
Events:
- Lead in the development and execution of fundraising plans and activities.
- Manage event logistics, including acting as a point person between vendors and the Center, tracking attendance, leading promotional efforts, and overseeing the event.
- Develop successful and trusting relationships with program recipients and community liaisons, creating and sustaining an environment that supports these relationships.
- Work closely with staff to ensure appropriate room availability for events.
- Identify and create positive relationships with potential sponsors in the community.
Competencies & Qualifications
- 3-5 Years Marketing Experience or Equivalent in Similar Industry.
- Creative, energetic, self-starter, and outgoing—can confidently go out in the community to spread the word about Mid-County!
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Strong written and oral communication skills – Objective, Accurate, Constructive, Concise & Audience Appropriate.
- Displays and projects credibility and confidence to the community.
- Undergraduate and/or Graduate Degrees will be considered favorably.
Salary: $40,000-$45,000
